Our Family

We are a family of 5; Mom, Dad, a 15 year old son, an 12 year old son, and a 10 year old daughter.  Working towards actualizing our dream of a homestead, of homeschooling, and just life between.

Our Story

Tale as old as time.  Boy meets girl, they get married, have three kids, try raising them by traditional social convention and realize that's not what they were looking for at all.....

Mom

Perhaps the hardest thing to write about is yourself.  My husband and I have been married since 2000, together since 1998.  We met in college and haven't looked back.

I am an artist by passion, my undergraduate degree in graphic design, and an MPA in non-profit management. I am a level one Orton-Gillingham tutor, which I obtained to better educate my daughter.  I have a heart for volunteer work, and in my spare time enjoy readings, knitting, and cooking.

The Boys

Completing the Unicorn Family

Westin is our middle child, and just about the sweetest little guy you'll ever meet.  He enjoys Dungeons and Dragons, books about midivil times, LARP, hiking, bike riding, taking care of his Boston Terrier, Stuart, and any comic-based movie.  He LOVES that he shares a birthday with Stan Lee!

Tiernan is our oldest son, and our only traditionally schooled child, at the moment.  Tiernan is sarcastic, compassionate, thoughtful, funny, and so engaging.  He enjoys Dungeons and Dragons, the Adventure Zone, Comic Con, and all things nerdy.

"Sis"

Littlest Unicorn

Jordana completed our family when she came in to our lives.  She is a spunky, outgoing, tender-hearted young woman.  She was also diagnosed with dyslexia at the age of 7, but that doesn't define her.

She enjoys funny unicorns, taking care of her ever growing flock of chickens, her cat "Clover", and her dogs.  She loves to cook, play the piano, engages in LARP, 4H, cake decorate, garden, and hang out with her family and friends.
